Kayleigh Stevens

Kayleigh Stevens has been dancing

since she was young, with jazz as

her primary focus. She studied jazz and

competitive dance and baton under

Yvette and Yvonne Hicks from 1996 to

2006 with Mirror Image Dance Studio.

She was a majorette at Huntington High School and went on

to spin as a member of the Marching Thunder color guard at Marshall University while studying education. During college she also cheered for the semi-pro football team the Huntington Heroes from 2006-2009.

In 2003, she performed in her first Nutcracker with Huntington Dance Theatre and became a member of the company in 2009. During her time with HDT, she has been honored to dance in original pieces by Danielle Watts, Melissa Buchanan, Molly Daniel, Taylor Massie, Maria Loudermilk, Robert Royce, and Erin Stephens as well as teach jazz and set her own original choreography. She enjoys the opportunity to teach and occasionally still perform.

She coaches color guard at Green High School and teaches sixth grade at Symmes Valley Elementary. She currently resides in South Point with her husband and three furbabies.

Anna Marsh
Assistant Director

Anna will always have a passion and love for dance. She has danced since the age of three and is trained in jazz, ballet, pointe, contemporary, hip-hop and modern. Anna is from Hurricane, WV and started dancing at HDT when she was 11 years old. One of Anna’s greatest honors was being selected to attend the Governor School of the Arts where she studied and learned not only dance but all aspects of the arts.Anna has performed in the holiday classic  The Nutcracker for many years with several principle roles such as Snow Queen and Clara. She was chosen to train in Huntington Dance Theatre’s pre-professional and day program which prepared her for many opportunities. Anna just graduated from Marshall University where she studied public relations. She had the great opportunity to be on the Marshall University Dance Team for all four years including her senior year whereby she was captain of the team. In the fall, she will be attending Marshall’s MBA program and has been selected to be the Graduate Assistant for the dance team. The benefits of training at HDT has prepared her tremendously, not only for dance, but for many other aspects in life.

Classes teaching at HDT: Open Ballet, Adult Ballet, Ballet 5/6

Teaching Philosophy:

Adult Ballet: I aim to help the dancers express themselves and learn that there is no age limit to dancing. The class will consist of learning, ballet technique, and increasing musicality and strengthening.

What else do you want your dancers to know?  Above anything else have fun, be yourself, and be BOLD.
